Teach Tearmainn provide the following services to women are or have experienced domestic violence and abuse

Refuge

Teach Tearmainn have 4 self-contained refuge units which accommodate 4 families who are fleeing their homes as a result of domestic violence and abuse. Teach Tearmainn’s refuge provides safe emergency accommodation for women with or without children. While staying in refuge, women and children engage with Teach Tearmainn’s one to one support service. To access our Refuge service, call our Helpline on 045-527584

One to One Support Service

Being in an abusive relationship can be extremely difficult and lonely. Many women blame themselves for causing their partners abusive behaviours. This can lead to many women hiding their experiences of abuse from their friends and loved ones.

At Teach Tearmainn, we provide women with a safe and confidential space to share their experiences and explore their options. Our dedicated Support Team provide emotional and practical support to women using an empowerment approach so we will never ask a woman to do anything she does not want to do. Helpline

Teach Tearmainn operate a dedicated Helpline. Our Helpline operators provide emotional support, practical support, safety planning, information and referrals to Teach Tearmainn’s One to One Service, Court Accompaniment Service, Refuge and Children’s Support Service. Call our Helpline on 045-527584

Court Accompaniment

Our Court Accompaniment service provides legal advocacy, referral and information to women regarding the Family Court process in relation to Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. We also provide court preparation and court accompaniment to women regarding the Family Court process in relation to domestic violence and abuse. Women’s Support Group

Teach Tearmainn are currently working in partnership with Tusla PPFS to deliver a ‘Strength In Numbers’ Support Group to women who have experienced domestic violence and abuse. For more information, please call our Helpline on 045-527584
