Ways We Can Help

Teach Tearmainn offers a variety of services designed to support survivors of domestic violence. We encourage women to start with whichever service they feel would be most helpful. For some women this might be our Helpline; others may find an appointment with our staff to be the first step.

All services at Teach Tearmainn are based on an empowerment model, in which we provide the support and information you need to make your own decisions to keep yourself and/or your children safe from violence. All our services are safe, free of charge and confidential.
Teach Tearmainn is ready to help you make your own decisions about how to increase safety and emotional well-being for yourself and your family. We won’t pressure you to do anything you’re not ready for, and we’ll never judge your decisions. Our role is to provide the support and information you need to make your own decisions – and our goal is to help you be safe.

It is important to know that you do not have to leave your relationship, stay at the Refuge or make a report to the Gardaí in order to access our services. We respect and support your right to make your own choices.

Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them
